Leo Olsson reveled as Blue Peter's new presenter

Leo Olsson has been announced as Blue Peter's new presenter.

The content creator and adventurer said it was "such an honour" to be joining the programme.

Leo will team up with fellow hosts Shini, Abby and Hacker T Dog - as well as Henry the dog - for his first live show next month.

He will become the 45th Blue Peter presenter to join the show since it started in 1958.

Leo is a filmmaker who loves stepping outside of his comfort zones and trying new challenges all around the world.

From learning to play the piano to building a surfboard from scratch, he says his films encourage everyone to discover what they are capable of achieving.

He explained: "Growing up I was inspired by people I watched online and on television and I want to do the same.

"I want to let kids know that you can go out and do whatever you want to do, take on a challenge, big or small!"

Leo added that he was looking forward to joining the programme.

"I can't wait to meet the audience, take on new challenges and create some unforgettable adventures together."

In true Blue Peter style, Leo will be thrown in at the deep end with his first adventure.

He will attempt to earn his Blue Peter badge by joining a formation skydive thousands of feet in the air.
