Ukrainian under-15 footballers train with Premier League club

Imagine getting the chance to train with a Premier League football club.

That's exactly what some teenage footballers from Ukraine have been doing during a special visit to the UK.

Under-15 players from FC Kharkiv were welcomed by Leeds United as part of week of sporting and cultural activities in the city.

As well as the training session, the Ukrainian players also took part in a friendly match against Leeds United's under-15 team.

The young footballers travelled for more than 30 hours from their home city of Kharkiv, in north-east Ukraine, to the city of Leeds in northern England.

Despite the long journey and a language barrier, they quickly got involved in the training session with Leeds United coach and former Premier League player Brian Deane.

And it seems like the under-15 side really enjoyed the experience, with FC Kharkiv coach Danylo Pashchenko explaining that the boys were "very engaged and very excited" about the opportunity.

Egor, one of the teenage players, added: "For me, football is a very important part of my life. I am a goalkeeper and it is a very important position in the field."

His teammate, Mykyta, agreed: "I am learning with the sport and I am trying my best to achieve all my goals.

"I hope that in the future my dreams will come true."

The visit was part of a partnership between Leeds and Kharkiv, which aims to build a lasting connection between the two cities.
