Artemis II crew describe splashdown and dreaming of floating since return
In today's press conference, we heard from the four Artemis II astronauts who have now travelled further away from Earth than any other humans.
Mission commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen successfully splashed down to Earth last Friday after a 10-day trip beyond the far side of the moon.
After thanking everyone who made the mission possible, they shared their thoughts on how the mission went and what could be improved.
Glover said the spacecraft "flew like a dream", describing it as an "immense privilege". But, there's still a few kinks to be worked out with the spaceship's toilet, though Wiseman stressed it had worked.
They also explained how the mission shifted their personal perspectives, offered advice for future astronauts, and expressed how close they became with one another.
"It's very hard to grasp what we just went through," Wiseman said.
"Humans are just great people," Hansen said. "What I have seen has brought me more joy and more hope for our future."
