Barnoldswick Barons U12s Girls 0-6 TCFC U12s Girls

Every week there seems to be a big game involving TCFC. Today was no different with the current top two - TCFC travelling to Barnoldswick.

And what a game it was! TCFC started as they finished last week against Myerscough, surging forward at every opportunity, with Barnoldswick struggling to get out of their half. Rebecca W scored the first - her first goal for TCFC - with a well struck shot from the edge of the box that the keeper tried to keep out but failed.

Rebecca then scored a screamer from roughly 25 yards. As the ball was cleared, she made sure she was first to the ball...then belted it into the roof of the net. Great goal! Hannah G got the next after a great shot from Saffy that the keeper parried to her left, but good following up from Hannah made sure she was in the right place to tap home. Hannah then scored the fourth, after a pass back to the keeper gave TCFC an indirect freekick from inside the Barnoldswick box, Saffy played the ball back to Hannah who managed to force the ball through the oncoming defenders into the net, making it 4 - 0 at the half time interval.

Barnoldswick tried to push in the second half but Sammy S and the TCFC defence were letting nothing past and Sammy making two great saves. Danielle J, Megan E and Lauren C were all solid and looked comfortable throughout the match, they could be compared to the superb defence that use to be on show at Highbury. The midfield of Rebecca, Hannah, Sophie and Laura created chance after chance, Hannah again bossed the middle of the park often spreading the ball left and right to team mates in space.

Rebecca W scored her first hatrick for the club when she placed a penalty to the right of the Barnoldswick keeper. A well deserved hatrick. Laura I was as good as ever, making many runs down the right with some excellent crosses and always chasing back. She was rewarded with a goal after the best move of the game. Hannah worked the ball to the left finding Saffy Q, Saffy then beat two defenders on the left, then surged into the box and played the ball square to Laura who finished in the bottom corner.

Stephanie S and Abbie W deserved their twenty minutes on the pitch and did really well, Stephanie adapting well to the midfield role she was asked to play. Hannah G won the Girl of the Match award after dominating the midfield. She was a joy to watch and capped it all with two goals. Overall Barnoldswick struggled to live with a TCFC team that are currently on fire at the moment. Great Entertainment!
