The Medway Renaissance is aiming to transform the area into a city with 300,000 residents. It is the biggest regeneration area in the Thames Gateway. Rochester RiversideOne of the largest of all the Thames gateway sites, Rochester Riverside will fit more than 2,000 homes, a hotel and a new river walk on this prime site. The latest development aims to improve access to Strood station, the town centre and the Medway City Estate . Temple WaterfrontThis site is planned to mix about 600 homes and a business development, aided by easy access to the M2. Development began in 2007. Chatham Centre and WaterfrontPlanning is underway to make Chatham the cultural and civic heart of the Medway development, rivaling Brighton and Hove in size. Plans include a transformation of the 1970s Pentagon Centre.
