It was a very confusing night, lots of noise.(bombs falling) We were at my Grandfathers house, 20, Studholm Street, Peckham. SE.15. (the house is no longer there sadly) I remember my Grandfather carrying me over his shoulder out into the garden, I cried because I had lost my shoe. We went down into the air-raid shelter. I was on a bunk looking down at my mother who was on the bed under me with a tiny baby, that was my sister Joyce who is two years younger than me. I was two years old.
