My own parents, Olive and Peter Brunskill, were only 5 years old when war broke out.

Mam`s Dad... my Grandad Fred Williams was called up to the fire fighters. There were quite a few bombing raids on the industrial sites around Teesside so he saw a fair bit of action.

This link takes you to a contemporary digital war memorial site called - Conflict & Memory -

http://www.conflictandmemory.co.uk

It will be created with children from schools in Shropshire and will be launched in 2006.

It should be an interesting memorial that will include writings, drawing and animations made by the children in response to their meetings with veterans and visits to war exhibitions.
