Before the Baedecker Raids on Canterbury in 1940 I had a school friend named Daphne Ingleton who lived at 8 Havelock Street. We shared the same birthday and had both attended Payne Smith Infant's School. We were at St. Pauls Junior School at the time of the blitz. Daphne's house was hit and her mother injured. They went to live with an aunt in Folkestone and that was the last I saw of her. I often wonder what happened to her. Are you out there Daphne?
