My father recounts a tale whilst he was working on a floating dock near London on the river Thames
When at the end of the dock ,less than a hundred feet away , there was a tremendous explosion.
A huge wave of water was thrown up and the dock rocked very violently.
Then there was a whistle .v2 had landed virtually just off the end of the dock . The end gate and the water took the force of the explosion of nearly a ton of explosive. There would not be many people alive that had been _so close to the receiving end of a V2
