The best small garden at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2011
Small garden Heathers in Harmony, designed by Will Quarmby, has been judged the Best Small Garden, and been awarded a Gold Medal. The garden is designed for an urban space, making most of the vertical where horizontal space is limited.
Thanks to the number of different heathers used, its also a haven for bumblebees. Some of the flowers are so large, for example, Daboecia flowers, that bees chew a small hole near the nectaries so they can harvest the nectar.
