English Poet Gardens at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2011
Information about the English Poet Gardens at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2011
Jabberwocky, Lewis Carroll
Bill Butterworth
Silver-Gilt
Bill Butterworth has created a playful space based around the idea of ‘the tulgey wood’ where the Jabberwocky lives in Carroll’s poem. The garden is a therapeutic play space for traumatised young people so they, like the hero in the poem, can exclaim ‘O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!' as they play and slay their inner demons.

Jabberwocky, Lewis Carroll
Betula pendula - silver birch
Agapanthus africanus 'Albus'
