Artist Alex Beale was born in 1941. He moved to East Anglia as a young boy. He studied painting and drawing part-time at Southend School of Art, a year later he moved to the Camberwell School of Art to study painting and drawing.
He went on to study ceramics and sculpture at the Ipswich School of Art. In 1976 he founded in 'Six in Suffolk', a group of artists. Eighteen years later he retired from his job in the print industry but continued to paint and draw.
Alex has continued to exhibited as part of groups and mixed exhibitions as well as having several solo shows. His latest is East Anglia in a Box - mixed media construction- at the Chappel Gallery.
