Running until the end of June, the University Gallery is exploring the themes of light, reflection, confusion and mystery through a number of mediums. | | Ivan Navarro's 'Yellow Stepladder'. |
Organised by the University's 'MA Gallery Studies & Curating in the 21st Century' course, it brings together an ensemble of contemporary artists who have excelled in various spheres of visual art. It includes Duane Michals, Richard Wentworth and Ivan Navarro, who collectively will attempt to explore the question, 'Is what we see what it appears to be?' On display will be American Duane Michals' original photos that explore time, discovery and mystery, whilst Argentine Jorge Macchi's blurry lines separate the real and the possible. Brit Wentworth will be using a combination of mirrors, humour and sculpture in his work and perhaps most intriguingly, the Scandinavian photographers Frode and Marcus have been wander through Paris in search of a goldfish! As well as the visual displays, there will be an additional theatre production, film showings and lectures taking place whilst the exhibition is on. 'Reality Undone: An Art Show To Dazzle Expectations' opens on Monday, 23 April and runs until Saturday, 23 April. For more information visit the website below.
