The name Elizabeth Morris may be familiar to some through the use of some of her work in the television series 'Coastal Inspirations' which aired earlier this year. Until Christmas you'll be able to see a selection of her etchings showing the changing coastline of East Anglia, its features and its beauty. | | Gulls nest at Mersea Island. |
The exhibition combines her passion for the coast, its wildlife, traditions and landscape alongside her fascination with mythical characters, such as mermaids, and legends like Jonah. Morris, a Mersea Island resident, has been painting and exhibiting all of her life. Her work has been displayed globally, as well as at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Barbican. 'Coastal Inspirations' is at the Hayletts Gallery until the 23rd December, where as well as being able to view the work, there is also the opportunity to purchase some of it too. |
