The Essex Scene

More than 20 arts societies from across Essex are showcasing their work at a new exhibition which opened to the public on Saturday 2nd September.

The Essex Scene
Start Date:02/09/2006
End Date:30/09/2006
Genres:Art
Venue Name:County Hall

The new exhibition is a "journey" around Essex, and contains pictures such as landscapes and seascapes.

'The Essex Scene', involves clubs and societies displaying their reflections and interpretations of Essex's scenery at a month-long exhibition at County Hall in Chelmsford.

The event features over 150 exhibits from art societies from every corner of the county and if you decided to visit the exhibition, you will have the opportunity to buy pieces of work directly from artists.

The display has been organised by Essex County Council. Councillor McEwen said: "It's my hope that the pictures displayed will be great examples of the real artistic skills that these amateur art societies represent and I hope this will help to increase support for them."

The works will be on display within County Hall's library square and atrium throughout September.
