Neil Smith has only been painting for six years and paints contemporary yet traditional still life subjects in works such as 'Favourites' and 'Chocolates'. | | Neil Smith's 'Favourites'. |
Despite his late start to painting he has already exhibited around the world in Eastern Australia and California, as well as closer to home in the Cotswolds, Suffolk, Northamptonshire and Bedforshire. Tim Burns uses both observation and interpretation when painting his marine subjects, and particularly looks for unusual features in the landscape and the relationship between man and nature. | | Neil Smith's 'Chocolates'. |
He paints with oils, but also uses texture and often collage on the paintings as well. Although canvas is used, Tim doesn't restrict himself to that medium and has been known to use board or driftwood. You can see the two artists' work at the Head Street Gallery until the 25th September. |
