He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Creswick Landscape Prize and a Turner Gold Medal for Landscape Painting. Of his work, Robin says he sees himself as a traditionalist. "I still make paintings which are involved in the formal qualities of colour and form. As an artist I'm trying to create my own language with the hope that others can respond to it." "The visual interaction and the sensation of mood and atmosphere is an important part of my work". You can find out for yourself at the Chappel Galleries until the Sunday 13th August. |
