Webcams

How often do these webcams refresh?
Unless stated otherwise, all webcams within this site update every 5 minutes from 7am to 9pm GMT.

I can only view still images. Do you have any moving image cameras?
Unfortunately all of the webcams on this site are currently still images that refresh on a regular basis. We do have moving image cameras available sometimes for specific events and these will be mentioned on the site at the time.

Why is there not a BBC webcam available for my town/city?
We are very sorry if there is not a BBC webcam near you. If you wish to suggest a good location for a webcam then please contact us. Your suggestions will be carefully considered.

Why can't I see anything on the webcam?
It might be that the webcam is being maintained, upgraded or is temporarily unavailable. Some cameras are only available for a certain number of hours each day, so it may appear like it isn't updating. In this case it would be worth checking the webcam at another time. It may be that webcam is broken. If you find one that looks like it isn't working, please contact us.

Why is the webcam image not clear?
If the image appears to be unclear it may be due to atmospheric conditions or a technical fault.

How do I get the BBC to link to one of my webcams?
The BBC has strict editorial guidelines, but if you wish to suggest a webcam for a BBC Where I Live website then please contact the relevant local website. Your suggestions will be carefully considered in accordance to the guidelines.

I want to set up a webcam, how do I do this?
