ARCHIVE PAGE: Voices of Wisbech North was a special project that took place in 2003.
Linden from Wisbech North at the begining of a his career as a BBC journalistWe're fostering the next David Beckham.

Find out the what happended as a result of our meeting on the 1st of April 2003.
Is the next David Beckham living in Wisbech somewhere?

The meeting went ahead as planned on Monday the 1st of April. In attendance at the meeting were members of the Fenland District Council, members of the local business and footballing communities, parents and some of the children who are involved in our football pitch project.

The meeting was a great success with the Fenland District Council agreeing to provide and install goalposts in our proposed Lime Avenue
football pitch site. Before the goalposts can be put in place though the park must be fenced for the saftey of the children, and the surrounding houses must consulted to see if they have any objections to the erection of goalposts in the park.

So far, so good. Everybody at the meeting believed it was a great idea and was keen to get behind the proposal.

We'll keep you posted with regular updates on the future of the Wisbech North football pitch.
