Fierce fighting continues into a third day in Mogadishu

For the third consecutive day, insurgents and government forces, backed by the African Union forces (Amisom) have been engaged in fierce fighting.

Dozens have died including six members of the parliament killed yesterday in a suicide attack.

Mortar and rocket fire could be heard again today in the Somali capital and hundreds of women, children and the elderly have fled for their lives.
