Nigeria's acting president, Goodluck Jonathan, appears to have asserted his political authority by dissolving the cabinet on Wednesday.

So today he needs to start the process of appointing his own people.

Mr Jonathan has been running the country as acting president for the past month now, in place of the elected President, Umaru Yar-Adua, who's recovering from surgery.

Few people expected the wholesale cabinet dissolution.

So what's been published or broadcast by local media this morning.
