The award-winning local amateur theatre group, the Park Players, are presenting one of literature's great plays this month, the proceeds from which will go to the Park Street Village Hall Redevelopment Fund.

The Crucible takes place in Massachusetts in 1692. In the small Puritan town, where one’s life is dedicated to the service of God, several teenage girls are discovered in the woods and are accused of engaging in “The Devils” work.

As time goes by, the village becomes consumed by cries of witchcraft and, one by one, the blameless victims of this mass hysteria are torn from their homes and families.

With a 20 strong cast ranging in age from 11 to "70 something” performances are for three consecutive nights from the 1-3 November.
