From midday until 8.00pm on Saturday 4 August, 10 local bands will be playing live at an event hosted by the BBC's Gareth Lloyd - presenter of "The Box Office", a new programme on BBC Three Counties Radio for local entertainment and new music.

The whole event will be recorded and highlights will be played out as the Summer Concert on BBC Three Counties Radio on the same day and on The Box Office between 5.00pm and 7.00pm on Sunday 5 August. You will also be able to listen to each band's set again at your leisure on this Website.

In addition, Luke Ashmead will present the last of his Summer Saturday shows live from St George's Square.

The ten bands that will be playing are:

Bowfinger
Idle Silver
Blumunki
The Ruby Shoes
The Blue Teeth
Novocaine
Penny Racer's Last Journey
Shapes
Pirate Radio

New!

An exciting new technology known as Bluecasting will also be pioneered on the day! There will be a bluetooth transmitter at the front of the stage, so that anyone in the audience with a blue tooth enabled phone will be able to receive BBC content such as music from the bands, set lists, pictures, bbc trails, Video Nation films and competitions.

The whole event falls under the new BBC Introducing... banner, a project that is set to deliver amazing opportunities to new artists.

It brings together all the BBC's champions of brand new music, and the BBC’s network of new music shows, including The Box Office, will be giving the best new artists the chance to be broadcast on BBC radio, television and online and to perform at major events like Glastonbury and the BBC Electric Proms and local festivals such as this one in Luton.
