Little Britain Night at the Jolly Potters pub, Hartshill Road, Hartshill, Stoke (next to the church). Prizes for the best Little Britain character plus Quiz with cash prizes. Contact Cheryl on 01782 845254 ************ Honk for charity Matthew Jones and four other 'younger' red-nosers running a 'honk your horn' for Red Nose Day event. For every horn 'honked', as it were, we donate a certain amount of money to Comic Relief. Last year they managed to attain over 200 in little over an hour! On Northwood Lane, Clayton, Newcastle between 4:00pm and 5:30pm - about half-way along on a bench facing the road. ************ Pupils at Great Wood Primary School assure us that they'll be in for a day of silliness! They'll be wearing RED so long as they bring copper coins to school (the nearest colour coin to red!). Students were moved after watching a Blue Peter programme where a little 13 year old girl was caring for her brothers and sisters all alone. They now want to help to buy her a goat! ************ Newcastle Shopping Centre Event at the Roebuck Centre, Newcastle. Argos staff dressing all in red and having their legs waxed and "have the biggest hair going!" - around 12noon. There are also: a cracker eating competition; a jam doughnut eating contest (without licking their lips); the chance to pay £1 to watch a Peter Kay DVD in the College's lecture theatre. The College is hoping to beat the £500 raised by its Children in Need 'Miss Newcastle College' pageant in November ************ Battle of the Bands Todd Young, a 6th form pupil at Bidulph High School, is organising a "Battle of the Bands" competition with some fellow 6th formers, which will feature numerous bands within the school. The winning band will then be decided via a panel of judges, including West-End star Kirsty Bostock. ************
