Emma Bridgewater Pottery
Emma Bridgewater Pottery is going Red Nose Day crazy. The decorating studio and café, based in Emma Bridgewater’s historic Victorian factory at Lichfield Street, Hanley, is producing special giant red nose sponges –customised to be worn on the nose – for visitors to decorate their own mugs. We'll be donating the entire £2 studio fee and £8 cost of the mug to Comic Relief. The event will be running all day from 9.30 to 5.30 and our own expert decorators will be on hand all day giving demonstrations. Staff will also be paying £1 to come to work dressed in school uniforms (with a £2 forfeit to be paid by those who ‘forget’ the rules). Meanwhile, our management team is throwing protocol out of the window and inviting staff to pelt them with wet sponges for the bargain price of £1 a go. We hope to top the £500 mark so please come along and help us hit the target. For more information call the decorating studio on 01782 269682.

Joke for you
An architect, a surgeon and an economist are discussing the Creation. The surgeon says: 'Look, we surgeons are most important. God's a surgeon because the first thing he did was to extract Eve from Adam's rib.' The architect says: 'No, wait a minute, God is an architect. He made the world in seven days out of chaos.' The economist smiles: 'And who made the chaos?'
