Children In Need 2006 is here and we want to know what crazy fundraising events you've got planned for this year...

Children In Need takes place on Friday, 17 November, 2006. It's always a great excuse get up to lots of silliness and raise money for a good cause.

You might be pushing a car, cross-dressing or sitting in a good old-fashioned bath of beans, but however you plan to raise money for BBC Children in Need this year, you can bring it us.

BBC Radio Stoke will be collecting funds on Children in Need day between 9am and 5pm. We’d love to hear how you’ve raised money and see what you’ve been up to. We’ll also be speaking to fundraisers on BBC Radio Stoke throughout the day.

The golden age of broadcasting

The team at BBC Radio Stoke will also be recreating the golden age of broadcasting by dressing up in their finest togs – that’s dinner jackets for boys, ball gowns for girls.

So join us on Friday 17th November. We’ll collect and count your pennies and find out what you’ve been up to for BBC Children in Need.

Here's what you're up to...

Hillside Primary School

The staff of Hillside Primary School, Baddeley Green have sponsored the Headteacher, Suzanne Foster, to go the post office to pay in school donations in her pyjamas. She has agreed!!!

Polesworth WMC Ladies Darts Team are doing a walkabout around the village on friday night in fancy dress raising cash. Then we are doing a 12 hour darts marathon on Saturday 18 November at Polesworth Working Mens Club from 10:00 to 22:00.

The JJ's youth club 7-14 are holding a beetle drive with refreshments,raffle and a few stalls at st peters church in alton this evening between 6-7.30pm-everyone welcome-help us to do our bir for children in need.

99th Berry Hill Scout Group

Once again 99th Berry Hill Scout Group will be outside Woolworths in Hanley on Saturday 18 November trying to fill a giant Pudsey picture with loose change.

Hillside Primary School pupils and staff are wearing pyjamas today and donating 50p each for the privilege. The Headteacher is paying an extra £1 for all staff who wear their pyjamas!

Majestic owls will be at Asda, Wolstanton on Friday and Saturday 10:00-16:00. Hold a real owl stroke an eagle owl and have your photograph taken with a owl, all in aid of Children in Need.

We're having an oatcake eating competition, stars in your eyes competition, raffles, body waxing and a cheesy disco.

At my day nursery we are having a wakey hair day and face painting - including all stafff!

The Fenton Sixth Form College are holding a 'film day', the staff and students have to dress up as film stars, and there are films being shown throughout the day and also popcorn is available!

My school is having a non uniform day and the sixth form have to dress up in fancy dress for the day.

Fresh Roots

We are face painting in our salon. We have also had a raffle and aare donating £1 per client who comes through the door this week. The staff are in fancy dress on the day as well as selling balloons and badges.

Youth Info Shop & Vibe Youth Cafe are raising funds by dressing up as faries and pirates, collecting in the town on Friday 17 November and at West Heath in Congleton on 18 November.

On 18 November at Sir Stanley Mathews Sports Centre, Staffs Uni are holding a football match in aid of CIN between Churnet Valley and Foxfield Railway. Kick off is at 12:00 so come along and support.

Longton Working Mens Club are holding a fundraising event on 17 November. Admission is £3.00, it starts at 7.30 and every penny will be going to the Children in Need appeal. I will be performing on the night along with The Ronnie King Experience and Embraced.

The Kids Club at Penkridge Methodist Church is holding a Children in Need night on 14 November, 18:30 to 20:30. There will be cake stalls, bring and buy, lucky dip, table football challenge, name a teddy and much more - all organised by our 8 to 12 year olds.

I've made a food hamper up to be won by the winning square on the official children in need scratch game. At £1 a go that's already £30 raised. On Thursday I will be baking 100 fairy cakes to take to Tittensor First School on Friday to raise money at break-time.

Our company is doing a gunge-off where customers, suppliers and staff have to pay to vote for which director gets gunged. The gunge will take place on 16 November in Burton-on-Trent.
