Lamont Howie is a senior reporter on Radio Stoke, and also produces and hosts the Saturday Breakfast show.

'Saturday Breakfast' programme

If you laughed, cried or had a 'wow' moment listening to Radio Stoke during the week, Lamont will bring it to you again between 6am to 9am on Saturday morning.
It's a fun way to wake up at the weekend - with the highlights from the best of BBC Radio Stoke from the previous 5 days.

More about Lamont

Lamont has been a radio presenter and producer for over 20 years. His career started in commercial radio, winning a competition.

He became a Radio Station Manager at West Sound In Dumfries, Scotland before moving to BBC Sport.

After 4 years, the dairy farmer's son and former fish farmer made the obvious move to environmental programming and reported for both TV news and radio from 14 countries in 3 years for the BBC.

He's travelled too....North to the Arctic, south to the Falkland Islands. West to Los Angeles and east to Hong Kong.

Lamont has lived in South East Asia and South America and is married with three children.

Visit to Macedonia from the book of The Acts of the Apostles,At the United Reformed Church, Moorland Road Burslem. It’s a story of people, disciples of Jesus, Paul and Silas, and there ministry in Macedonia. There they have a life-changing encounter with Lydia, a slave girl possessed by a spirit which leads the Roman authorities to attempt to curb the work of the Holy Spirit. The real value of 'Jailbreak' is as a staged musical with music and drama combining to challenge and inspire both the audience and those taking part:The Choir of the United Reformed Church Longton Will be performing this musicalSaturday Evening at 7pm 24th October 2009.So please support The Choir with your presence on the day.

Dear Dot, I lived in Hong Kong between 1986 and 1987 - not on radio - only as a DJ for a well klnown British pub, Joe Bananas in Wanchai. I returned for the Rugby 7's and also to make an historical programme for BBC Scotland on the Scottish connection with HK - which was "set up specifically for Scottish businessmen"(namely the Jardine Mathiesons. So, what's your connection? Lamont
