About SUBCulture

Everything you ever need to know about 'SUBCulture' - BBC Radio Stoke's indie & rock music show and the 'BBC Introducing' forum for Staffordshire's Unsigned Bands

'SUBCulture' on BBC RADIO STOKE (94.6 & 104.1FM) and on the BBC iPlayer Listen Again online service aims to bring the best of new music and local bands (signed or unsigned) to the airwaves of Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

It goes out every Thursday night between 7 and 9pm and we want to really promote the local music scene whether it's bands, solo artists or DJs.

We also make no apologies for playing a variety of non-commercial, un-radio-friendly tracks. Whether it be rock, metal, indie, pop, hip-hop, dance, etc, etc, etc - If it's good, it's in the play list.
We're especially interested in working, gigging bands - from Crewe to Tamworth, from Burton to Codsall ... inclusive! - so if you fall into that category, contact us.

Interactive

We want the show to be interactive so we need listeners to be involved as much as possible...

We want you to e-mail (subculture.stoke@bbc.co.uk), text (07786 202946) and call us (01782 208008 - ask for presenter Rob Adcock, or leave a message on the answerphone for him) with any news, gig reviews, comments about the music we're playing or requests to put tracks on the playlist.

We aim to cram the 2 hour long show with the latest music releases (signed and unsigned), demo reviews, interviews, entertainment news, and gig guides.

It's not about being cool or hotshot; we're just fans of good music and enjoy playing it.

We hope you enjoy listening and taking part!

'Subculture' is presented by Rob Adcock, who took over in January 2009.
Previously, it had been hosted by Matt Lee and Dave Hamer, who had run it for nearly two years, right from its very first night.
