Commonwealth Games 2010: Jory to fly Guernsey flag

Jory has represented the island at four Commonwealth Games

Shooter Peter Jory has been chosen to be Guernsey's flag carrier at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Delhi on Sunday.

The decision had been expected on Tuesday, but was delayed while team officials worked to iron out problems with their accommodation in India.

Chef de mission David Harry said Jory was delighted to be representing the island for a fourth games.

Harry said: "It's a recognition of his commitment to his sport."

Jory and his brother Adam are competing in the full-bore events in Delhi.
