Former world number 11 on BBC Two

The metric that really stands out for me from that first set is on the side of Stefanos Tsitsipas. He only won 33% of his second serve points. He is going to need that number to be above 50% if he is going to win this match this evening.

Novak Djokovic also seems to be the only one coming into the net at the minute, Tsitsipas never even approached the net once in that opening set.

I can spot actor Ben Stiller, who is a huge fan of Novak Djokovic and here to support the Serb as he bids to maintain his pursuit of history at Wimbledon today, wearing his shades over in the seven-time champion’s box.

Better than a Night At The Museum, that’s for sure.

He’s been treated to a solid enough opening set from Djokovic there.

  3. 'Clean and tidy'published at 20:23 BST

    *Tsitsipas 3-6 0-0 Djokovic

    Andrew Castle
BBC Sport tennis commentator on BBC Two

A short ball off the backhand from Stefanos Tsitsipas, but Novak Djokovic flattens it out and pummels another one down the line.

There are two masters - and more - fighting it out on this court. A brilliant set of tennis. It was clean and tidy.

It is interesting to watch Stefanos Tsitsipas return serve because he stands with that full forehand grip, hence why he struggles on the backhand side.

  5. Game and first set - Djokovicpublished at 20:22 BST

    *Tsitsipas 3-6 0-0 Djokovic

Sealed at the first time of asking by Novak Djokovic. He laps up a short return from Stefanos Tsitsipas, winding up for a down-the-line forehand and landing it with aplomb.

Djokovic takes the first set 6-3.

  6. Set points Djokovicpublished at 20:20 BST

    Tsitsipas 3-5 Djokovic*

Stefanos Tsitsipas, at full stretch, returns a wide serve with a cross-court forehand that kisses the baseline - lovely.

But inside half an hour on Centre Court and Novak Djokovic has two set points.

  7. 'Djokovic generates such easy power on his shots'published at 20:18 BST

    *Tsitsipas 2-5 Djokovic

    Colin Fleming
Former British tennis player on BBC Two

I'm sat right at court-level, just below the Royal Box, so I'm getting some fascinating insight as these two men continue to do battle.

There hasn't been as much coming from Stefanos Tsitsipas' box as there would've been previously.

I have to say there is a real dull thud when Novak Djokovic hits the ball at the minute - almost every ball is coming out of his sweet spot in these indoor conditions. He just generates such easy power on his shots.

There have been some fascinating early exchanges.

  8. Tsitsipas holdspublished at 20:18 BST

Novak Djokovic holds up a hand of apology as his mis-hit cross-court backhand return becomes a blistering short winner.

An otherwise routine hold for Stefanos Tsitsipas. Started with two aces, finished with a third.

Stefanos Tsitsipas brings "ooohs" from the crowd as he doubles-back on himself for a forehand but the court is wide open for Novak Djokovic to pummel a forehand winner. 15-0.

Ace. Serve returned wide of the tramlines. Serve returned into the net. Quite clinical.

  10. 'There is plenty of time to be retired' for Djokovicpublished at 20:15 BST

    Tsitsipas 2-4 Djokovic*

    Tim Henman

When anyone asks me what the thing driving Novak Djokovic is, it has to be records and an underlying passion for this sport.

He loves to be out there, he loves to compete, he loves the arena. I think we can all appreciate there is plenty of time to be retired, so while you still have the hunger to put in the hard yards then why wouldn't you continue play on Centre Court or at any of the majors?

  11. Crowd already hookedpublished at 20:13 BST

The Centre Court crowd can’t help but gasp mid-rally as Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas engage in an absorbing exchange, the Greek in particular slicing his shots so low that many can’t believe they have managed to escape interference from the net cord.

Tsitsipas crouched to the ground after faltering on a trademark backhand down the line, and a huge opportunity to get back into this set evaporates before his eyes.

It hasn’t taken the players long to get the crowd hooked on this.

    *Tsitsipas 1-4 Djokovic

    Andrew Castle

Oh, Stefanos Tsitsipas has just pulled it wide! What a rally. A good use of the slice though, you feel that will be important for him to utilise today.

Novak Djokovic has won five straight points. You get a feeling he is already in command of this second-round match.

A calm leave from a jumping Novak Djokovic, withdrawing his raised racquet as he realises Stefanos Tsitsipas' lob is going long. Break point one - gone.

A big T serve is returned into the net. Break point two - gone.

Locked in a baseline exchange, Tsitsipas pulls Djokovic into the net with a sliced backhand but drags his forehand pass into the tramlines. Break point three - gone.

When Stefanos Tsitsipas lost the French Open final in 2021, he probably figured he would be back in a handful of quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals of majors - but unfortunately for him it has actually gone the other way.

This year has especially been a very big struggle for him.

  17. Break points Tsitsipaspublished at 20:06 BST

Now it's Novak Djokovic's turn for an uncomfortable service game, with a double fault and a couple of errors offering up 0-40.

He'd love an ace right now.

  18. Djokovic breakspublished at 20:04 BST

Another error from the racquet of Stefanos Tsitsipas. His groundstrokes haven't been as on song as his serves.

We say Novak Djokovic's serve has improved all the time, but it has just been marginal gains ever since he came out on tour.

It is such a weapon that serve.
