Saints star Harris to retire at end of season

St Helens and England player Zoe Harris is set to retire at the end of the 2026 season.

Harris has been part of the St Helens women team since it was formed in November 2017 and part of all of its successes.

The 32-year-old stand-off has played 104 games and won four Challenge Cups, two League Leaders' Shields and the Super League title in 2021.

Harris has also represented England on six occasions, including at the 2022 Rugby World Cup.

"I've completely lived out the dream," she told the club's website.

"Looking back over the last couple of years and everything we've achieved as a club, winning the treble and the four Challenge Cups in a row, going to Wembley, they are amazing memories."

Harris has been a mainstay of the St Helens team in a period in which the women's game has grown massively.

She was part of the Saints team that won the first Challenge Cup final to be played at Wembley in 2023 and player of the match at the same venue in the final the following year.

Harris has also seen the women's game become more advanced, with St Helens having been semi-professional since 2024.

"The game is growing at a steady pace, with more girls wanting to get involved and play," she said. "It's amazing to see how far the game has come.

"I'm hopeful I'm leaving St Helens Women in a good place for others to be pioneers and drive the game forward even further."
