Self-confessed "Evertonian" David Moyes will no doubt be a relieved manager after the club's decision to keep hold of bright young midfielder Harrison Armstrong.

The Toffees boss bristled at times when fielding countless transfer questions during his post-match presser following Saturday's draw at Bournemouth, but admitted that "supporters aren't always wrong" when asked about their reaction to the Armstrong reports.

However, when asked if he would be relieved to see the window close, the Scot countered that he would rather it stayed open longer to give him time to bring in more players.

It later transpired that the club was considering an approach from Tottenham for Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye...

We mentioned Nottingham Forest and their reported interest in Liverpool's number two goalkeeper, well the club made waves on the other side of Merseyside over the weekend with a £40m bid for Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong.

The England Under-19 international is regarded as one of the brightest prospects to emerge from Finch Farm in recent years.

The news enraged Everton supporters, who sang Armstrong's name throughout Saturday's draw at Bournemouth and said there would be a "riot" if he was sold.

Everton's board, led by chair Dan Friedkin, eventually decided to reject Forest's bid - with the owner at the forefront of the discussions.

So the powers-that-be at Liverpool could be kept busy today, but there is plenty going on elsewhere.

Let's have a look at the other key deals coming to boil across the Premier League...

While Liverpool supporters have been urging the club to strengthen in certain areas, it seems the club is looking at a potential deal to sign a new teenage goalkeeper.

Liverpool Echo, external is reporting that the Anfield outfit is looking at Genk's 18-year-old Belgium youth international Lucca Brughmans, as Nottingham Forest weigh up a move for the Reds' reserve keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid have also been linked with Brughmans, who has only made four appearances for Genk but has been earmarked as a potential star of the future by Liverpool's global talent department.

BBC Sport reported last week that Liverpool are exploring a move for Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr after Brighton rejected their two bids for Yankuba Minteh.

The Anfield club had offers of £50m and £60m for Minteh, 22, turned down by Brighton and have now switched their attention to Sarr, who scored 21 goals last season for Palace.

Like Minteh, Sarr is a right-sided winger and has Premier League experience but the understanding is that Palace are not open to selling the Senegal attacker this summer. Sarr has also been the subject of interest from Galatasaray.

Sources have told BBC Sport that a bid has been made by Liverpool, but the Reds and Crystal Palace have denied this is the case.

We could well get an update on this today.

A section of the Liverpool support on social media have been voicing their concerns over the direction of travel in the transfer market, with calls for more arrivals at right-back, up front and on the right of midfield.

Manager Andoni Iraola has spoken about his desire to bolster his options in wide areas.

New signing Victor Munoz started on the right and scored in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

But can he fill the sizeable boots of club legend Mohamed Salah, or do Liverpool need further reinforcements out wide?

Bradley Barcola's imminent arrival at Liverpool is expected to trigger the departure of Cody Gakpo.

Barcola is right-footed but likes to play in Gakpo's preferred position on the left wing, which has increased the doubts around the future of the Netherlands forward at Anfield.

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have shown interest in the 27-year-old wide player.

However, it became clear on Saturday that the Etihad was Gakpo's preferred destination and City have since opened formal talks.
