Does Hall contract breed hope for Newcastle's future?

"He is a very important player for us and for what we are building here, so this is exciting news," said head coach Matthias Jaissle after Newcastle United announced Lewis Hall's new long-term contract.
Since arriving at St James' Park on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy in August 2023, Hall has made 107 senior appearances - scoring three goals and contributing nine assists - and lifted the Carabao Cup.
Hall has also made four England appearances since receiving his first senior call-up in November 2024, but controversially missed out on Thomas Tuchel's final 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The Magpies lost key players in Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon this summer, while experienced figures, like Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy, Nick Pope, Dan Burn, Fabian Schar and Mark Gillespie, have contracts that expire next year.
