Australia winger Sam Silvera is one of six players released by Middlesbrough after they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old was a first choice for Boro at the start of the season but unable to regain his place regularly after being sidelined by a foot injury in February.
Silvera made 65 appearances after joining from Central Coast Mariners in 2023.
Defender Darragh Lenihan, midfielder Alex Gilbert and back-up goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin are also set to depart at the end of their contracts this summer.
They will be joined through the exit door by Finnish forward Marcus Forss, who spent the majority of the season on loan at Bolton and Dan Barlaser, who went to Hibs on loan.
Loanees Alan Browne, Matt Targett and Joe Wildsmith will all return to their parent clubs.
Boro are still in talks with defender Dael Fry, who captained the side at Wembley last weekend in their Championship play-off defeat by Hull City, over an extension to his contract which expires next month.
However Jeremy Sarmiento will definitely remain at the Riverside with the Brighton winger's loan set to become a permanent transfer when the transfer window opens in June.
