Jordi Liongola helped RAAL La Louviere maintain their place in the Belgian top flight last season

Sheffield Wednesday have signed full-back Jordi Liongola from Belgian Pro League side RAAL La Louviere for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.

The 26-year-old made 31 appearances last season, providing two goals and six assists during RAAL's first-ever campaign in the Belgian top flight.

Liongola, who has 15 international caps for Burundi, is the Owls' second signing under its new owners, the US consortium Arise Capital Partners.

"I'm joining in a new era and that is something that really excites me," he told the club website.

"Everything is so positive here and I'm excited to be part of it."
