Guernsey FC Women were heavily beaten in their first league game of the season as they went down 5-0 at home to Bognor Regis Town.

The Green lionesses, who were beaten in the FA Cup last month, went behind in the first minute at Victoria Park as Loulou Robson fired into the top corner after a defensive error.

Sophie Humphrey's seventh-minute goal doubled the lead before Candice Bougourd hit the Bognor crossbar as the islanders trailed 2-0 at the break.

Rebecca Bell-Thorns headed the visitors 3-0 up after an hour and Macie Downs claimed their fourth soon after.

Bell-Thorns completed the scoring as she tapped in a fifth with 14 minutes left after reacting quickest to Freya Boxer's saved shot.

The island side travel to Bournemouth Sports Reserves next Sunday for their second game of the season in the Southern Region Women's Football League Division One South.
