Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov has been named in Uzbekistan's 26-man squad for the World Cup.

Khusanov became the first player from Uzbekistan to play in the Premier League when he joined City from Lens in January 2025.

The 22-year-old has made 47 appearances for City and helped the club win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last season.

Uzbekistan, who are making their debut in the competition, will be managed by Italy's 2006 World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro.

Captaining the side is forward Eldor Shomurodov, who spent the 2025-26 season at Istanbul Basaksehir, on loan from parent club Roma.

Uzbekistan face Colombia in their opening Group K fixture on 18 June, before matches against Portugal and DR Congo.
