Northamptonshire all-rounder Saif Zaib has confirmed that he will be leaving the club following an agreement with "another county".

The 28-year-old departs the County Ground, having made more than 200 appearances for Northants, scoring more than 7,300 runs across all formats and helping them to a third T20 Blast title this summer.

He made his first-team debut at the age of 16 in a List A match against New Zealand A in 2014, becoming the club's youngest-ever first-team player. He went on to make his First-Class debut the following year against Kent at Canterbury.

In a statement, Northampton said they had held discussions with Zaib in an attempt to reverse his decision, but he will be moving on.

"It's been a real honour to represent Northamptonshire CCC," Zaib told the club website., external

"Especially as the club has been such a big part of my life for so long. I'll always be grateful for the memories, friendships and experiences I've had along the way.

"To the supporters, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you've shown me over the years. It's meant so much to me, and sharing those special moments with you is something I'll always treasure."
