India batter Mayank Agarwal has joined Durham for the run-in to the County Championship season.
Agarwal will be available for Durham's last four games as they chase promotion back to Division One.
The 35-year-old has played 21 Tests, the most recent in March 2022, and five One-Day internationals for India
Agarwal, who had a brief spell with Yorkshire last year, averages 43.98 in first-class cricket and he will replace David Bedingham, who is returning to South Africa to prepare for their Test series with Australia next month.
"Mayank is a hugely talented batter who has a superb first-class record, we look forward to him contributing to Durham as we look to secure our return to Division One of the County Championship," head coach Ryan Campbell told the club's website.
With four matches to go, Durham are 40 points ahead of both Kent and Northamptonshire with their next match away to the latter, starting on Wednesday (10:30 BST).
