Woodward 'ecstatic' with new bests in heptathlon
Lucy Woodward took half a second off her 100m hurdles personal best

Jersey heptathlete Lucy Woodward set personal bests in her first two events at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The 23-year-old, who is the first Jersey woman to ever qualify for a multi-sport event, is 14th after the 100m hurdles and high jump.
She ran 14.05 seconds in the hurdles, taking half a second off her lifetime best as she finished fourth in her heat at Scotstoun.
Woodward followed that up with a high jump of 1.64m, beating her personal best by a centimetre.
She went on to unsuccessfully attempt 1.67m to end the first two events on 1754 points.
"I'm genuinely ecstatic," said Woodward, who balances her training with working as an architect.
"Hurdles is always nervous, but once I got that done I could relax into it and I had a PB, which is the best way to start.
"I attempted 1.67 and got the crowd behind me because it was a huge PB, but it wasn't meant to be today, but 1.64 is still a PB.
"This whole thing has been such a high and I'm going about it exactly how I intended to and I couldn't ask for a better competition."
