Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF) offers people the chance to view some of the best of these films - as well as well as new unscreened films and old favourites from Britain and the rest of the world.

The 80 adventure films on offer this year covered adventure sports from mountaineering, climbing and bouldering to mountain biking, base jumping, surfing, microlighting and skiing to inline skating and extreme tubing.

Basically, if it's extreme, it was there and the festival culminated in ShAFF's first awards on the final night.

As well as four world premieres, there was a live interview with mountaineer Joe Simpson, on stage with landscape photographer and writer Gordon Stainforth, with clips from Touching the Void and Beckoning Silence.

There was a special programme of films for younger viewers and a compilation of films about inspiring women in adventure sports.

And it wasn't only films on offer - ShAFF put on an urban orienteering race, live music, photo exhibitions, a shop and a climbing wall at The Showroom too.
