The US demands Iran publicly guarantee Strait of Hormuz is open

Weekend

Available for 29 days

The US wants Iran to publicly state that the Strait of Hormuz is open and to pledge to stop firing on commercial ships as part of negotiations due to be held in Oman. Also in the programme: A documentary showcasing testimonies from doctors who worked in Gaza over the last two years is being released in cinemas this weekend across the UK. It's called Life Support. And it's the final weekend of the Wimbledon tennis championship, and for the first time since 1986 the women's singles will feature two Czech players. We speak with Hana Mandlikova, who lost to fellow Czech player Martina Navratilova, during that match. Celia Hatton is joined by panellists Alpa Shah, a professor of social anthropology at Oxford University, and Alexi Drew, an independent consultant on technology policy specialising in international security and humanitarian action.
