People in Colombia go to the polls on Sunday to elect a new president. The current left-wing leader, Gustavo Petro, cannot seek re-election, but the vote is being seen as a key test of his policies. The election includes candidates with different visions of how to tackle violence driven by rival armed groups competing over cocaine smuggling routes. Also in the programme: the Pope warns of AI’s dangers; and Liverpool Football Club parts ways with their manager. Presenter Julian Worricker is joined by Helene von Bismarck, historian and author, Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society; and Patrick Bishop, military author, journalist and historian.
