Germany's far-right AfD set for big win in Saxony-Anhalt

Exit polls give the AfD more than forty-four percent of the vote. It is not clear yet whether that would translate to a majority of seats, but its lead candidate Ulrich Siegmund said his party had won a mandate. The vote heaps pressure on the German chancellor Friedrich Merz, whose CDU party saw its support halved.
