Need To Know Merseyside

Available for over a year

A plan to generate energy by harnessing the tidal power of the River Mersey is moving forward, with a proposed location for the project now revealed. Once ruled out because of its high cost, the idea is back on the table. We'll hear from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, the thoughts of local people, while former engineer and BBC journalist Jamie Moughton explains how the scheme could work and how much energy it could generate. BBC Radio Merseyside's Claire Hamilton explains what's being proposed and what the plans could mean for the region.
