Food Critic Jimi Famurewa: ‘In London memorable nights are just around the corner’

Listed Londoner

Available for over a year

Born and raised in south-east London, Jimi Famurewa is a British-Nigerian author, broadcaster and journalist. Jimi’s writing has appeared in The Guardian, GQ and The New York Times - and in recent years, he’s become one of the UK’s most respected food critics. In 2020 he was appointed as the Evening Standard’s Chief Restaurant Critic, replacing Fay Maschler who’d held the role for nearly 50 years. Jimi is also a guest judge on MasterChef. When I spoke to Jimi in 2022, he’d just released his first book Settlers, which explored the culture of Black African Londoners. Jimi Famurewa revealed his London favourites, memories, pet-hates and everything in between with Robert Elms.
