Can traffic-free Oxford Street change image of London?

Today

Available for over a year

Cars, buses, taxis and bicycles can no longer travel along much of Oxford Street with almost two thirds of a mile of the road now pedestrianised. The idea has been discussed for years but is controversial, with local residents among those worried about the change. The traffic may have been stopped but the initial works scheme is not expected to be completed until spring next year. Today's Jonny Dymond speaks to the mayor of London Lord Khan.
