Ulverston’s 73-year-old lifeguard: Starting a new job at 73

Available for over a year

At 73, John Barstow from Ulverston has taken on a new challenge – becoming a lifeguard at his local leisure centre. After impressing the pool manager by retrieving a mannequin from the deep end, John was encouraged to take the lifeguard course. He talks about the training, passing the exam and being the oldest person on the course by 40 years.
