York-born architect Joseph Hansom appeared destined for success before financial ruin followed the construction of Birmingham Town Hall. Reinventing himself, he created the Hansom cab, a Victorian transport icon. Today, his legacy lives on at York Castle Museum, where a surviving cab remains on display. Guest: Dr Faye Prior.
