Bells on Sunday

Available for over a year

Bells on Sunday comes from St Mary’s Church in Grafton Regis, Northamptonshire. Grafton Regis was the birthplace of Elizabeth Woodville, the Queen Consort to Edward the Fourth and mother of Elizabeth of York wife of King Henry VII. The church tower contains five bells, the two oldest of which were cast in 1625 by James Keene of Woodstock in Oxfordshire. The 19th-century tenor bell weighs nine hundredweight and is tuned to G sharp. We hear them ringing Plain Bob Doubles.
